When disaster strikes, the family pets can become victims too. Trauma, smoke inhalation or burns can have the same catastrophic effects on animals as they do on people. Once human life is safe attentions may turn to the four legged victims. When given the opportunity many rescue personnel would like to be able to help but until now have not had the proper equipment to do so.

Firefighterssavepets.com is a group that is dedicated to providing fire departments around the country with special resuscitation kits that can literally save lives. Traditional human resuscitation masks are ineffective on animal faces with their long noses, extra lip tissue and hair. The masks used in veterinary anesthesia are made with a rubber ring to provide an effective seal. The resuscitation bag allows for passive administration of oxygen for animals that are breathing as well as active supportive ventilation for those that are not breathing. Along with a laminated CPR instruction card and leash, all of this life saving equipment is presented in an easily stowed and portable canvas bag.

We believe that equipment is only as effective as the individuals using it, so it is our mission to train your personnel. We provide individual training through video as well as classes for groups. Above is a short excerpt from our DVD. It can be purchased alone or with our resuscitation kits. In addition, we can provide on site training by a licensed

veterinarian using a resuscitation manikin, and when possible a live dog. Please contact us if you are interested in purchasing a DVD or on site training.

Dr. Erin Troy has been a practicing veterinarian for 15 years. She owns Muller Veterinary Hospital and founded The Canine Rehabilitation Center, both in Walnut Creek California. She is dedicated to helping her patients and improving her community.  Dr. Troy has teamed with an experienced business manager and an active fire service chief officer to offer this unique service to your department and community.

It is also our mission to ease the financial burden that all public service agencies find themselves in with budget limitations. We will contact local non- profits to offer them a chance to make a difference in their communities. We will speak with them and explain the advantages of partnering with their fire department in this worthwhile endeavor. It would be their gift that keeps on giving.
