We have been accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association since 1957. This means that we regularly have our practice evaluated by an expert to ensure that we comply with the highest standards in veterinary medicine. And it means that you can be sure your pet is receiving
the best possible care. Ask us

Veterinarians

Erin Troy, DVM
Dr. Erin Troy is a native of Contra Costa County. Growing up on a small farm she was involved with 4-H and FFA at a very young age, which seemed the perfect foundation for a future in the animal field. After receiving her Bachelors degree from U.C. Davis, Dr. Troy joined Muller Veterinary Hospital as a veterinary assistant. The following year she passed the state board examination and became a member of Muller’s technical staff as a Registered Veterinary Technician until she entered the school of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Erin graduated in 1993 with honors including the American Animal Hospital Association Senior student award and membership in the Veterinary Medicine Honor Society - Phi Zeta.

Returning to California, she rejoined Muller Veterinary Hospital’s staff as an associate veterinarian. Continuing education has always been a priority for Erin and she has attended numerous forums on surgery and internal medicine. Erin purchased the practice in 1999. She sincerely enjoys being involved in our community and has volunteered her time and services to many local organizations. She is always available to speak to groups including career days at schools, Girl and Boy Scouts, and mothers’ clubs. In her free time she enjoys her wonderful Labradors, Logan and Keller, a multitude of home improvement projects, and many outdoor activities.

Jill Iwata, DVM
Dr. Jill Iwata was born and raised in nearby Benicia, where she was the youngest of three girls. Growing up, Jill competed in gymnastics and she enjoyed playing tennis on the Benicia High School tennis team. Following in the footsteps of her two older sisters, Jill entered UC Davis in 1995. Although she originally wanted to be a physical therapist, internships in both physical therapy and veterinary medicine taught Jill that she would be much happier being a veterinarian. While Jill was finishing her undergraduate work at UC Davis, she worked as a veterinary technician and receptionist at a local animal hospital. Jill graduated with highest honors with her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 1999. She then went to the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and

graduated in 2003. While at UC Davis, Jill was a member of Phi Zeta – the Veterinary Medicine Honor Society. In her free time, Jill enjoys spending time with her husband and her new baby son, baking, playing with her two cats Henry and Bizzy, and visiting her mom and the family dog back home in Benicia.

Jennifer Yamamoto, DVM
Dr. Jennifer Yamamoto was born and raised in California’s Central Valley. She knew from the age of five (when she adopted her first cat) that she wanted to be a veterinarian. After graduating from high school, she completed her bachelor’s degree at UCLA and headed straight to veterinary school at UC Davis. While at UC Davis, Jennifer actively participated in many clubs including the Holistic Medicine Club, Orphan Kitten Program and Fix Our Ferals. Jennifer has been happily practicing small animal medicine in Contra Costa County since 2002. Recently, she earned her veterinary acupuncture certification through Colorado State University, and she is excited to be offering this complementary service to her patients at Muller Veterinary Hospital and the Canine Rehabilitation Center. Jennifer lives in Pleasant Hill with her husband Wes, her wonderful Lab/Rottweiler cross Soco, and her temperamental feline friend Meow Meow.
